Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Prison Release Date Moved Up Again

Sean “Diddy” Combs has received another update to his projected prison release date.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the music mogul’s anticipated release has been moved forward by approximately one month. While the adjustment has attracted widespread attention, officials have not provided a specific reason for the change, and the projected date could still change based on future developments.

Diddy’s New Projected Release Date

Updated federal inmate records now show that Combs is expected to be released on January 24, 2028.

The previous projected release date was February 23, 2028, making this the latest revision to his expected release timeline.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons notes that projected release dates can change because of several factors, including inmate conduct, earned credits, administrative reviews, or other legal developments. Officials have not publicly explained what prompted this latest adjustment.

Why the Release Date Could Change Again

Although the revised date moves Combs’ release forward by about a month, it is not guaranteed.

Federal prison release dates are considered projections rather than fixed dates. They may be revised if an inmate earns additional credits, loses privileges because of disciplinary action, or if court rulings affect the sentence.

For that reason, prison records clearly indicate that the projected release date remains subject to change.

Sean Combs Continues to Appeal His Conviction

Combs is currently appealing both his conviction and his sentence.

In October 2025, he was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious federal charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking during his 2025 trial.

His legal team continues to challenge the conviction, arguing that the sentence should be reconsidered through the federal appeals process.

Recent Prison Incident Drew National Attention

Earlier this month, Combs also made headlines following reports of an altercation with another inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Sources familiar with the incident said prison staff quickly intervened, and Combs was later placed in solitary confinement. It remains unclear whether that incident played any role in the latest adjustment to his projected release date, and federal officials have not linked the two events.

No Official Comment From Combs’ Representatives

A representative for Combs declined to comment on the updated release date after the revised federal records became public.

Likewise, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has not issued any statement explaining why the projected release was moved forward.

Without an official explanation, observers can only rely on the updated inmate records, which show the revised date but provide no additional details.

What Happens Next?

For now, Sean “Diddy” Combs remains incarcerated while his legal appeal continues.

His projected release date is now January 24, 2028, but that timeline could still change depending on prison policies, court decisions, or future administrative updates.

As the appeal for this case moves forward, both legal analysts and fans will continue to monitor developments in one of the entertainment industry’s most closely watched legal cases.
